TIME TO MAKE THE SWAG BUCKS!

Good Morning Swaggernauts!

*STRETCH!*  How did you guys do with Mega Swagbucks Day?  I earned my usual.. 3 wins for 11. That's not terribly mega, but I still look forward to fridays. I saw a LOT of people winning 50, 51, 29, etc. Some day it will be MY turn! *GRIN*

Let's see, what to blog about today. How about surveys? (WoOT! I posted a survey tips blog today, then went and finished a survey for 50 swagbucks! NICE!)

Before we start, if you haven't signed up for Swag Bucks yet, time's a-wastin! In the past 5 days of blogging I have earned over 1600 swagbucks. That's $15 in amazon.com gift cards with swagbucks to spare towards another $5 card! (remember  - 2200 swagbucks = five $5 AGC!) Today I have two free trial special offers in mind that will net me a cool 714 more swagbucks. Check out my previous blogs to learn more about those special offers!

To sign up, just go to the top of this blog page and find the black & white swidget in the right sidebar. Click the SIGN UP button on the bottom right of  the swidget, fill out a short form, confirm your email, and earn an instant 30 swagbucks to get you started!

OK! On to Surveys!

Once you have been a swaggernaut for 7 days, your TRUSTED SURVEYS will open up for you. There is also another link on the trusted surveys page, PROFILES. These profiles are mini surveys that you don't have to qualify for, and they pay a small amount of swagbucks for each one. The point of the profiles is to fine tune the surveys that you are offered.

Before I filled out my profiles, I got more surveys on my dashboard. However, I qualified for almost none of them. It was pretty frustrating.

Now that I have filled out all my profiles (and earned a tidy little swag bucks profit from them) I see a lot less surveys. But I qualify for more when they DO come.

Surveys can be a blessing and a curse. Even with my profiles done, I do still disqualify a fair amount of the time. However, the most common reason is because I'm a white female of a certain age living in Florida. This isn't racism or any kind of discrimination. It's simply that there are a lot of white females of a certain age in Florida who do surveys- so the quotas for my group fill up pretty quick.

I seem to be averaging 2-3 surveys completed and credited a month. They usually are 50, 100, or 150 swagbucks each. Sometimes they are as much as 200, rarely they are for something like an ipad sweepstakes entry. That one made me laugh, but it was for a nonprofit so I guess that was far more cost effective for them than offering virtual currency. So I couldn't be mad :P

There are some frustrating qualities to surveys. Generally you have to fill out what feels like 2 surveys. One to qualify, and one actual survey. If you have ever done surveys on any of the other tons of survey / points sites, then you know the routine.

The drawback to swagbucks surveys is if you do not qualify, that's it. Even if the survey company offers you a link to try another survey, you won't get credit for that second one if you do complete it. There's another site that doesn't work like that, and down the road I will be telling you about the other sites that I personally use, but for now, I want to focus on the best rewards site I've used.. Swag Bucks! :-P

There aren't too many tips I can give you to successfully complete a survey. Don't go through the answers too fast. If you have an inkling what the survey might be for, there's no rule against opening another tab and swagsearching it, however the companies Are looking for honest answers. They need the data for a reason, and lying all the way through isn't gonna help them. However, I have been known to guess and tweak my answers to try to complete the survey lol.

These surveys tend to be pretty long. The time estimates given at the beginning are about spot on. I might get them done faster but my attention is split between the survey and my kids.

There's one survey group that gets me happy when I see the logo- PSB Marketing. or Group. Something. PSB Something lol. Every time I get a survey from them, I qualify, complete, credit no problem. Sometimes the surveys will have errors after you have filled out most of it, and that can really tick a person off. That never happens with PSB, and GlobalTestMarket seems to be pretty good too.

My favorite surveys to disqualify for are the ones that ask me one question then boot me. I mean, really, if I am not gonna make it, let me know right away instead of waiting til I have filled out 10 minutes of qualification information, right?

Let's see, that's about all I can think of right now about surveys. I recommend filling out the profiles. It may make your  survey dahsboard seem like a ghost town most of the time, but it does save you a lot of frustration not qualifying for anything. Also, getting 5 or 10 swagbucks for each one adds up nicely!

I hope you have a wonderful Saturday, and I Really hope you rake in a TON of Swag Bucks!

Happy Swagsurfin!

MEGA SWAGBUCKS DAY!

Good Morning Swaggernauts! Today is MEGA SWAGBUCKS DAY!   What does that mean? It means that until 12am pacific, your chances of earning higher denomination swagbucks is increased significantly. Already this morning I have seen several people posting wins in the 20s, and 2 in the last 5 minutes posted a win of 51 !!  The rules for searching remain the same, but the rewards are bigger!

This also applies to the new Swagbucks TV. Normal wins are between 1-5, but my first win this morning was a 6.

This mornings win brought my total up to 2710. That's enough "in the bank" to go ahead and order my monthly limit of five $5 Amazon gift cards as soon as the month rolls over to November, and still have 460 left over for more prizes, or for the next months orders.

There are monthly limits on prize redemptions. You can only order 2 of any type of prize in a day, and you can only order 5 of any one prize in a month. So, November 1st and 2nd I will order 2 $5 AGC each day. On the third, I will order 1 to round out my monthly five. After that, I can either choose to save for the next month, or I can order other prizes.

At the beginning of October I ordered five $5 AGC, and by the 11th I had ordered 4 $5 PayPal deposits. The PayPal deposits are more expansive, as they translate to real cash.  A $5 AGC is 450 swagbucks, a $5 PayPal is 700. So I spent a total of 5050 swagbucks (plus some swagstakes entries and virtual swag.)

A lot of swaggernauts primarily order the AGCs. Its the best value for the swagbuck. But what do you do when you order your 5 for the month, and want more Amazon cards? Well, theres also a $25 and a $50 card. The best Value is to save up for the $50. A couple of months ago I had enough "in the bank" to order the five $5s and a $50! And was still able to order my limit of the five $5's early in the next month.

However, I fell so in love with my netflix trail, I decided to split my winnings every month between Amazon and PayPal.  Ah but see I have $30 in PayPal waiting to pay for the next three months of netflix! OO What to do, what to do? These are problems I enjoy having to solve!

I am going to buy my five $5 AGC and see what else I've built up by then. I still have 9 days of swagsurfin to rack up as much as I can. I'll let you know what I have, and what I decide to do with it in November!

If reading all this gets you as excited as it gets me (seriously, I JONES FOR FREE STUFF!) and you haven't signed up yet, TODAY is a Great day to start! You will get 30 swagbucks just for signing on, and you can start raking in the swag with Mega Wins from searches and swagbucks tv!

Just look to the right, at the top of this blog. The swidget is that black & white box up there. Just click on the SIGN UP button at the bottom right of the swidget. It will take you to a quick and easy sign up form. Just a couple moments, an email confirmation, and you are on your way!

One of my facebook friends who joined in July made about 450 the first couple of weeks. Then he slacked off, forgot about it. My posts got him excited again, and he started just a week ago to try earning. In that week, he has earned more than 1200 more swagbucks, and gotten an Ultimate Gaming Card for 1100, with half of another cards worth of swagbucks "in the bank".

Let me be UPFRONT here. This kind of swagbucks is EASY to earn, but if you just stick to searching and swagbucks tv, it WILL be slower. The bright side? There are TONS of FREE no obligation free trials and fully free special offers. That's the key to bringing in such big swagbucks so fast.

Don't hesitate! As a housebound mommy with no income and a really REALLY tight budget, I am NOT exxaggerating when I say swagbucks has been a God send for my household. Whatever your faith, getting free stuff will be a boon to your life. Take my friend with the Ultimate Game Card. Those cards are virtual currency in literally hundreds of online games. Super cool, and if I had time to game like I used to I would SO buy it.

Best of luck, and as always, HAPPY SWAGSURFIN!

Swagcodes! The Hunt Is ON!

There is a swag code RIGHT NOW! Check your toolbar, the From TSG section! If you don't see a new message, click the word MESSAGES and it will take you to the latest post. (This one is good for another 40 minutes, until 12:45 Pacific, 3:45 Eastern.

This one is a video hint. You go to Swagbucks TV and watch the video TSG's message points you to. There are words written throughout the video- his hin tells you which ones to look for and how to enter it. I can't be more detailed, its a violation of the rules to give the codes away- but I hope you find it! Let me know if you do!

Back to our regularly scheduled tip fest...

SWAG CODES! are a nice way to get extra points. They don't happen every day (least likely to happen on a sunday), but there are times when there are 2 or 3 codes a day, like yesterday. (One for 12, and 1 for 8!) There are several places to find codes. First I recommend going to the Swagbucks Facebook page. Sometimes codes are posted in the status message up top- but always look at how long ago the status message was posted! (TSG you need to get on removing the status after the codes are gone!) Also, if you see the page flooded with "Thanks TSG!" posts, you know theres a code floating around somewhere. Check the blog. Check the swidget. Check Twitter.

Though I don't rely on it as much these days, in the beginning I never got a code until I went to We Love Swagbucks site and read their RSS instructions. They lay it all out; what the best rss program to use is (it really is a nice one). How to set it up, step by step- and I set my update timer to every 5 minutes. For some reason that worked better. (and DON'T synchronize it with google it actually makes it slower.)

If you follow their instructions you get swag blog alerts, and a lot of times the code is in the blog. Also you get other swag code alerts - now sometimes its a little bit repetitive, but since getting the newsfeeds, I haven't missed a single code, if I have been online. (Though now adays, I get them pretty quickly because I visit the facebook page regularly.)

These codes, they expire within a few hours (or 30 minutes!)usually, so I was very frustrated until I got the newsfeed.

Also, it took me about a month, but I broke down and signed on with twitter. between swagbucks, we love swagbucks, and a couple of other sites like @swidgetwatch and @SwagBucksTricks, I Never miss a code- if i am online to see the alert lol.

Also swagbucks runs 3 fun ways to earn extra swag bonuses on Twitter. One is the Twitter Tuesday Phrase That Pays. In the blog you get instructions on what to put in your tweet to get a chance to win a couple hundred swagbucks.

Another is Trivia Thursday. They have a series of 3 trivia questions, and the first person to tweet the answer with all the parts correct wins a progressive amount of swagbucks for each question. The last one is usually pretty long and detailed, but hey, you can win swagbucks searching for the answers!

The third way to get extra swagbucks through twitter is to tweet something with @swagbucks in it. I will post my wins with a "witty" remark. Haven't won yet, but several people win 100 swagbucks a day for doing it.

Keep your eyes on your toolbar, the From TSG button. It doesnt always update but you can click it anytime and click "messages" and it will take you to the latest message from TSG. There are codes in there once every couple of weeks maybe.

Finally, Swagbucks has put the WIDGET on the toolbar. Now when you click EARN, you will see SWIDGET at the bottom. Click the swidget (or come here and click mine! lol) and press the SC / Swag Codes button. Click Check If There's A Swag Code. If there is, and its on the swidget, you will either get the code, or get directions on where to find the code.

I apologize if any of this is unclear, or confusing. I have a rocking headache today, and it took me a few hours to decide what I could even post today that would be helpful but not a mind-bender.

Please folks, if anyone is reading this, leave me a comment with what kind of information you would like to see here first. There's tons of topics but I want to help YOU with what You are most interested in learning.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thursday, and win Lots of swag!

Swagbucks TV and Special Offers!

GOOD MORNING SWAGGERNAUTS!

Yesterday the final piece of the new swagbucks puzzle was rolled out. Swagbucks TV! For now the toolbar (Ways To Earn) doesn't have it, but, if you go to the homepage and click the EARN tab at the top, you will see the new Swagbucks TV listed.

When you click that, it takes you to a page with several category tabs, and a top 10 list of daily videos. All you have to do is watch, and win!

It is done kind of like searching. You don't win every time you watch a video, its a random chance. When you DO win, it could be anywhere from 1 to 5 swagbucks. It *seems* like the average win is 3 times a day, but its definately possible to get more. Some folks won 6 times yesterday! This might change as they tweak it, I will let you know if I discover any more. (I won 3 times at 5 swagbucks a pop yesterday, once so far today.)

GOOD LUCK, and Enjoy!

I wrote yesterday that I would start laying out some tips for doing special offers. At the moment, this is a bit of a sore subject for me. I had no problem getting the offer companies to credit me for the first couple of months. Now, I have to chase down quite a few of my swagbucks through inquiries. It's not just me, it seems to be happening to a lot of swaggers. I think its a rough patch on the offer companies part that is partly a result of special promotions Swag Bucks has run to get people to do more special offers. I suspect the offer companies business volume went way up, and their ability to respond went down. I HOPE that within a week or two it will settle back down to something more normal. At any rate, special offers are still a GREAT way to earn major swagbucks!

Let's start with simple free offers. There are a total of SIX different offer companies that work with Swag Bucks. Most offer companies have several of the same offers available, but each one pays at a different rate. It is a good idea if you want to do, say, the netflix free trial, that you look around the different offer companies and find the one with the best pay out. I did my netflix trial from PaymentWall and got 965 swagbucks. Some folks do it from gwallet or gambit, and get 540 or so. So you see, it DOES PAY to dig deep!

When you load up the special offers page, the first thing you see is PaymentWall, aka OfferWall. They are the new kids on the block. At first they were really good with crediting- now they are about on par with the other companies.

Below the offer wall is a set of 5 tabs. Gambit, TapJoy (formerly OfferPal), TrialPay, Gwallet, and SuperRewards. Also, on the swagbucks homepage, about halfway down, is a "Slider" bar. If you click the yellow, it slides away and shows a list of icons for special offers. That list slides and slides and slides all the way through. This is from GWallet, and Most of the offers can also be found on the special offers page under their tab.

Each company has its own layout and set of tabs. I tend to go straight for the "free" or "video" tabs.

Videos are a great way to earn swagbucks. They seem to come in waves- sometimes there will be videos on several walls, sometimes there will be none. Just watch the video, and if there are any other things you need to do, like share the link, the description will tell you before you watch the video.

Free offers are, in my mind, broken up into two categories, even though they are all listed together. There's Free Trials, and Truly Free.

The truly free ones range from signing up for an ArcaMax newsletter for 9 or 10 swagbucks, to filling out insurance quotes and getting calls from agents, for anywhere from 50 - 400 swagbucks. There are also programs you can download but beware, sometimes those will set off virus alarms. The offer companies say they check their offers but three times in the last month I have had to start an inquiry reporting a bad link, a bad download, or what have you. The up side is when you report a bad offer, if it is a valid problem offer, they tend to credit you some swagbucks for being diligent and letting them know.

Companies like ArcaMax and EverSave are ALL OVER the boards. They are so tempting! But there is a catch. Each one you do must be done with a different email address. You only get credit for any ArcaMax or EverSave offer ONCE for an email address. I have done ArcaMax 5 times- with 5 different email addresses. (And yes, I use all those emails so they are valid!) You can kind of tell if an offer is going to be one of those two companies, because they are almost always 9, 10, 11, or 12 swagbuck offers.

A LOT of the free offers can be VERY confusing, until you learn their sneaky tricks. Most often you will have your initial sign up form to fill out. Or if it's a "quiz" offer, you do their quiz first. Then you have to go through page after page after page of stuff they want you to sign up for. Always look for the SKIP, NO THANKS, NEXT OFFER type buttons. You don't have to sign up for ANY of the junk they throw at you.

A lot of the offers try to switch it up with "radial button" offer pages. Where you have a long long list of YES / NO buttons to click. Oh my gosh this used to be a pain in my butt until I learned a trick. Click NO on the first one, then just keep pressing Tab & Down Arrow all the way through. No NO NO No no nO NO! lol

If you click NO on all, and a pop up tells you that you need to press YES to at least 1, or 2 offers, no worries. Go ahead and click a couple random ones to say YES. After you finish filling out the rest of the page, it will open up the offer you chose YES for- Just Skip It! Pass, No Thanks, whatever the button says. They are tricksy, but you just be tricksier!

When you finally get to the end, you will know because you either see your quiz results, or a page will load up from the original offer company. Check your email, make sure you confirm if they sent you a confirmation email.

Free Trial Offers are an AMAZING way to earn swagbucks. They credit with the most regularity, for one thing *chuckle*. The best paying ones are for the credit reporting companies. It does not harm your credit when YOU check it. However, some folks don't want to use their credit cards for these things- Totally understandable! Here is a solution many swaggernauts use - get a prepaid, reloadable card, like the one I use- Visa Go-Tag from 7-11 is the one I chose, because it's cheap to get, and no monthly fee as long as it "stays active' every month. You have to call an 800 number to register it, if you want to be able to reload it. Also some companies won't accept them if they aren't associated with your name. SOME companies won't accept them at all, but they are few and far between.

Usually what happens when you use one of those cards is, you sign up, fill out your CC information (cause it works like a credit card), and a $1 or $1.50 charge appears on your card, with a PENDING status. After about a week that pending charge goes away.

I have done three different credit reporting companies, sirius radio, superpass, netflix, an 8 week subscription to TIME and PEOPLE magazines, etc- all with my prepaid card that now has only $5 on it and generally Still works for these offers.

Here's the catch- if you are going to do the free trial offers, you MUST be diligent about keeping track of when you started, when it ends, your log in info, and HOW to cancel. Most of them require you to call an 800# to cancel. So far I have had no problems. Be sure to keep the free trial a few days, a week. If you cancel too soon your swagbucks will be revoked. If its a 30 day offer, keep it a couple weeks. If it's a week offer, keep it 4-5 days.

Netflix I kept because it turns out you can use PayPal to fund that.. and you can use Swagbucks to fund PayPal! :D WIN WIN WIN! (I got 2 $5 amazon cards and a free month of rentals from this trial offer- Too Cool!)

There are also offers which require you to spend money, or purchase something. I have never done one of these but have observed the chatter about them on the Swagbucks Facebook page. It seems that swagbucks can be credited instantly for those- or take up to to a month. ALso, if you cancel or return whatever it is you bought, they WILL revoke the swagbucks. Sometimes folks have cancelled or returned a product before they got their swagbucks int he first place. Then the amount gets removed from your totals and its just a big mess contacting swagbucks to straighten it out. MY ADVICE: Don't do these offers unless its something you actually want and think you will keep, like the VistaPrint photo printing offer.

Shop & Earn through the swagstore is different from the special offers purchases but works generally the same. Each company listed has different payouts- some are 1 swagbuck per dollar spent for example. Those can take up to 32 days to credit, and have the same danger of losing the swagbucks if returned.

Now, there's something Very Important to learn, to make a habit. I mentioned at the beginning about "chasing down" the swagbucks for some offers. Make it a habit of taking screenshots of what you are doing. (Press PRTSC or Print Screen, open a graphics program like Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, and paste it, save it.) If you have an offer that doesn't credit, you can start a ticket, or inquiry, with the offer company. Each one has something like "Missing Swagbucks?" or "Offer Status" buttons / tabs. Click it, and it will either load in the same page, or open another tab, or another window. You will see all the offers you have tried, all that have completed, and all that are "waiting for offer to report". (TapJoy lists the open / initiated offers at the END so you have to go past all the completed ones to find what you are looking for. The rest are generally listed by date.)

Let's say I did a quiz offer for 41 swagbucks. I entered my email, took the quiz, went through a couple dozen offer pages before I got to my result. I would take a screenshot of the quiz results, save it, then wait to see if the offer credits. If it didn't, I would open the offer status, find it, and once it changes from "Waiting to report" to "initiated" or "viewed" I would click Contact or Start Inquiry, they are all labeled differently.

You will always have to enter the email used for the offer. Sometimes you have to add more information such as address and phone number used, if the offer required such information. If you have screenshots, load them to photobucket, tinypic.com, imageshack.us or other free image hosting site. If you received a confirmation email, open it up, clicc FORWARD as if you are gonna send it on somewhere, then COPY every bit of it, and paste it in the inquiry box. (You have to do it this way so that what you are copying includes the email header, which shows when the mail was originally sent to you.) Send/submit the inquiry and wait for them to reply. Sometimes they will request more information. Keep an eye on your email, or just check back on the inquiry page to see what more you need to do.

Don't try to scam the offer companies. Use valid information. Even though I have had to add my street address to a lot of offers, I haven't gotten too much snail mail. Mostly email, so I would recommend using a junk email account for stuff you don't want to have to wade through every day. The phone number thing is a big if- a lot of folks don't want anyone calling htem at home. If thats the case, forget the auto health life insurance quote offers. They won't credit if you don't use a valid number, and they won't credit if you never answer the phone to talk to an agent. For other offers, I use my magic jack number. Straight to voicemail :P

Theres so much more information to give you about special offers. However the toddler needs mommy, so I will post this, read back over it again and make another blog post to fill out the gaps of information I know are missing. I hope this wasn't too confusing. I hope it wasn't too much info at once! If you have ANY questions, please leave me a comment below so I can answer them for you!

Beginner Tips for Swagsurfing!

Welcome back to SwagMelt! I hope some of you took advantage of yesterdays sign-up bonus code. It's gone today (and we are workin on The Swag Guy to get it back!) but there is STILL the normal 30 swag bucks bonus for signing up. (just click Sign Up on that black & white box to the right there to get started!)

I want to help Everyone get lots more swag! To say the economy is tough and cliche, and frankly "putting it lightly".  Swagbucks has been a blessing in my life, allowing me to get things we Need, and shappy surprise, things we Want as well! So I am going to start blogging tips to help you do as well, or hopefully even better, than I have been doing.  I'll collect and refine those tips and put them in a FAQ down the road.

Today I'm going to repost the starter tips I zappped off to my other new swagfriend this morning. It's just the TIP of the iceberg, believe me.

There are a few ways to earn swag bucks. The easiest is searching with their browser. Their engine pulls from Google and Ask so once you get used to the way it looks, the search results are pretty good. I do recommend getting the toolbar- it doesn't slow my computer down at all, has no viruses, and is very useful. I use it to check messages from TSG (sometimes there is a code there) and I search from it all the time.

I have the best results with searching if I space it out over the day. I learned early on that not only is it Frustrating to keep trying and trying, but it actually lessens your chances, because you can be put on a "timeout". So I search a few standard things several times a day. It doesn't matter what they are, but for me its gmail, swagbucks facebook, twitter, netflix, flickr, photobucket, good morning america *chuckle*. I win with at least one of those a day, more often a couple times. I also search other things, say if I need to track down a virus alert on my computer, I will search for the file name- for some reason I almost always win within a few search pages when I am doing REAL research :)

You can expect to get an average of 3 wins a day if you spread it out. Sometimes more. And if you are ever up in the middle of the night, at 12am (central) the win algorithm resets, and a lot of people get 1 or 2 wins between 12 - 12:15. However, beware! Sometimes when you win 4 times in a day, or you hit midnight bucks, it can take a while to get your first win the Next day. I have had to try until 7 pm sometimes. I usually still manage to get 3 wins by the end of the night though. On the rare occasion I only get 2 wins, I usually get four the next day. It averages out, so if it seems like you aren't getting anywhere, don't stress it! Try again later!

Do The Daily Four! If you have the toolbar installed, then the first time you use your browser every day, you get a free swagbuck. Click DAILY POLL from the "Earn" tab at the top of the homepage. (Or from the Ways To Earn tab on your toolbar.) Vote every day for a free swagbuck. Click NOSO from that same earn tab, and SKIP through the offers shown. Today there was only 1 to skip through, Free easy 1 swagbuck. Lastly, visit your Trusted Survey page after you have been a member 7 days. Another easy free swagbuck! May not sound like much, but after a month thats 120 free swagbucks for Very little effort. (Bonus- right now its 2 swagbucks each, for the promotional week we are having.)

Last but not least for this morning- visit the Facebook Swagbucks page. Its the most active community of all the "Search & earn" sites. The members there are Generally VERY helpful, and will answer any question you have. Its a little slow in the mornings but by evening its Hopping!

There is a thread titled General Info for Newbies in the DISCUSSIONS tab of the facebook page. LONG, lots of information to go through in there.

There are a variety of other ways to earn swag bucks. Special offers is probably the biggest, and if it's done right, more profitable way to go. I will tell you more about special offers tomorrow, because it's a BIG topic, and there are a lot of ins and outs to it!

Until then, Happy Swagsurfing!!
